Hershey's Track Meet

On a whim one day after reading about it in the Parker newsletter, I asked Kalea if she wanted to try out a free track meet. She said "Sure." So we went to Legend High School and registered. She got 1st place in everything she did! By a lot too! I was so proud of her not just for winning, but trying something new. She is a fabulous runner. On Thanksgiving (fast forward:) she ran a 5k with me!She ran the 50 Meter Dash, then since she did so well in that I convinced her to do the 100 Meter Dash. She also did the last leg of the 400 meter relay and the long jump. Blue all around! She got invited to the Regional Tournament but we couldn't go because it was Tom's company picnic. Way to go Kalea! A girl after her mom's heart!

The Infamous Incline

The people that I work out with at Boot Camp told me about The Incline in Manitou Springs and I've been anxious to do it for a while. The first time they went I sprained my ankle the day before playing tag at boot camp, yes, tag. (And I dislocated my pinky playing dodge ball. I love people's faces when I tell them how I've injured myself.) So when they went again I was excited. (Notice the black ankle brace.) This first picture was at the end of the Barr Trail that I ran down after climbing up the incline. Tom had an office picnic at Heritage Square that I promised him I would be home in time for, so the run down was necessary and awesome all at the same time.Here is the Cog Railroad going up Pikes Peak. This was one of our favorite things we did in the Springs.
I made it! It was super hard but amazing. I was the first one up from our group. The next one came up about 5-10 minutes after me. I was deemed a "mountain goat" by the group. Hey, I was in a time crunch. I made it in about 50 minutes. I had some random guy take this picture.

I love my sweet boy Jackson. He is the greatest first born son because he is a huge help, and he's a great example to his brothers and sisters. I remember back to when he was a tiny little preemie in the NICU, and marvel at how much he's grown. He's a tall, handsome, athletic, funny, smart little man now. I love him so much!

Kasey and Katie's graduation from BYU!

Kasey and Katie graduated from BYU in April. They worked so hard. Katie got her degree in Dietetics, and Kasey in Mechanical Engineering. With 2 kids, it was no easy feat! I was so lucky to get to go to their graduation, without kids! I didn't know what to do with myself! Tom kept all the kids, and even colored easter eggs with them while I was gone. It was a great weekend. I gave them the traditional lei. Kasey had a stohl (sp?) printed in little Dane's honor...it was so neat.

March/April 2011

This was a common scene at my house while Dane and Jamie had to be at the hospital with Daner. Tali came to play a lot, and we loved every minute of it! Visiting Dane in the hospital.
This was March 31st, the day Dane got the bad news that he had leukemia. We are coming to see him at Children's. This news was all new and the gravity of it all was still setting in.

He got a basket of goodies, the first of many to try and keep his spirits up.

Poor little guy started breaking down when he realized he would be in the hospital for his birthday, April 12th. I couldn't bear it. I'm so happy to say that after a horrible 5 months, he is cancer free! We just returned from camping with their family in Moab and it was so great to see him running and climbing all over and having fun instead of sitting in that hospital room unable to move because of how sick he was. His hair is really neat looking, it started to come in pure blonde, and now his true brown is coming in underneath it. He is so sweet. What a trial.

Surgery for the boys

This was not a happy day. Jackson and Jett had to get some urological surgery done to insure good "pee pee" health as they get older. Jett had a double hernia in his testicles that had to be repaired also. The surgery fixed everything, but they were in a lot of pain afterward and had to have catheters in for 5 days! They were miserable. Tom and I were miserable. I was upset becasue the dr. made it sound like it would be no big deal and they would be up playing the next day. He was beyond wrong. And holding your 2 year old down while he's screaming in terror waiting for him to knock out, not fun at all. So even though it was a time we'd like to forget, I figure it should be documented.

I have gotten way behind on my blogging. I find I'm just so busy it's very hard to get to. And, we've gotten a little lazy with taking pictures, we always take them on our phones, and then never take the time to figure out how to download them on to the computer. I made Tom sit down and figure it out, so now I'm blogging all the pictures that were on there. So they will be a little out of order, but at least it will get done!

Here is Kai and Jett, I read to them and have Kai read to me every day and then usually Jett falls asleep, and Kai gets up and does something for quiet time. But this yummy day they both fell asleep next to me...this was the view to my left.... ...and to my right. :)

Our boys wanted to show their support for Dane by getting their hair cut off. We weren't able to go to the hospital with everyone else, because it was in the middle of our church time. So our boys did it the next night for fhe. Here is before... during....these made me laugh so hard

Kalea's 10th birthday!

Kalea wanted to go to the Spaghetti Factory this year for her birthday. We had a great time with our oldest daughter. She is so fun to talk and laugh with. Right before the Spaghetti Factory we went and visited Dane in the hospital, and I'm so mad that we didn't take any pictures. The age restriction for visitors was lifted on her birthday, April 15th, because that's when they officially declare flu season over. She was so excited to be able to visit him. We got her several great presents, including a new dance game for kinect, jewelry, hair things, etc., but she said her favorite gift was being able to go see Dane. She is so sweet and concerned always for him. I thank God every day for my beautiful Kalea. Happy Birthday "Ya-Ya!"

This is a quirky little thing Jett does. He always has his blanket with him...and he will take the corner of it and rub his ear with it. My dad's birthday bash at my house. Not quite as huge of an extravaganza as last year. For his 60th we had a huge surprise party for him. This year was a quieter affair, but still fun.

This is a cute picture of some of the grandkids with their beloved Papa. I am a little melancholy when I see this picture, because just a few days later we would learn that "little" Dane has leukemia. We were just talking with Dane and Jamie about how he had been so tired and pale lately. They thought he had tonsilitis. Look at that long, Justin Bieberish hair! :(

Jackson's leprauchaun trap

(I'm almost caught up...) Jackson made a pretty outstanding leprachaun trap. We used the same general idea from Kalea's 2 years ago. When the leprauchaun was lured in by the gold and signs pointing up to the rainbow, he would fall inside before reaching the pot of gold! It had fluffy tissue paper to break his fall, though, no worries. He was pretty proud of it. He didn't actually get to be there on St. Patrick's day, he was recovering from urological surgery. But his teacher said he got real close to catching the sneaky little guy and he left Jackson some treats inside!

For Christmas my mom and dad got us a membership to the Denver Zoo. It is such a great gift. The kids love to go. Because it's free, we can take our time and not rush to see everything, because we'll be back soon. Me and my fifth born...

Sassy "Nini"

This is one of Jett's favorite past times. He gets a stool or chair and puts it up to my sink and turns on the water, then finds things to experiment with in the water. I'll find things missing, and one of the first places I look is in my sink! He could do it for hours. We call it his lab.

We went geocaching in our neighborhood. Tom and I and the kids had been to find this one before and were unsuccessful. But all together we found it. (Brandon and Bev were there too, but they didn't make the picture somehow.)

This is Jackson's fall season basketball team party, with coach Sean Knapp. He did a great job with the kids. Jackson has really turned it on this season, he was the little star of the team. They nicknamed him "Buzzer Beater" because he had several shots right at the buzzer. He loved that! Tom and I had such a great time watching him this season, not just because he scored a lot, but because he LOVES it. Genuinely LOVES it. It has given him so much confidence. The next season he got to be on his best bud, cousin Ty's team, with Uncle Dane as coach!

Kalea's Class Christmas Party

I loved what Kalea's class did for their Christmas party. They made blankets for the Children's Hospital and the local firemen to give to less fortunate kids. They earned money for books to go with them and for the fabric. Kalea was very excited to do this, and she cleaned the whole basement to earn the money for it...(not an easy feat!) They wore their pajamas and had hot chocolate, treats, and a movie, and presented their blankets and books to the representatives. Very cool! This is the red and green jello popcorn Tom and I made at midnight for Kalea's class party. It was a big mess, but quite yummy. Thanks Jody for the recipe!

We went to California for Thanksgiving. We had a blast visiting Tom's family. We stayed with Tom's brother Ben and his family. It was so nice of them, taking on our crew of 7 is hard enough, especially when their family is the same size! Here are some pictures of our fun.

Captain Jackson won this huge pumpkin at school. At the last minute before he left for school that day, he ran up to grab a dollar out of his bank to buy a ticket for the pumpkin raffle and he won!

It was "Crazy Hair Day" at school. On D.A.R.E week, there is a theme for every day. Kalea had crazy pony tails and red spray in her hair, and Jackson had red spray in his too.

My brother Brandon and I got to be the coaches of Kalea and Bekah's volleyball team. It was very unexpected for both of us, but it was sure fun. Brandon did a great job, and I just stood by and cheered everyone on!

Jody and I and all the kids of course tried our luck at the Denver Zoo on a free day. It was certainly a zoo...and there were animals too. It was fun though, and we couldn't have asked for better weather.

Our friend and neighbor, Garrett came with us too.

That makes 11 kids, and 2 adults! Slightly crazy, but the kids slept great that night!

My Birthday

My 31st birthday was great. Tom and the kids made me breakfast in bed. They gave me a BIG huge birthday card and a bunch of yummy chocolates from "Mountain Man." They know how to make me happy. :) Then Tom surprised me by taking the day off! It was a Friday and the kids didn't have school, so we had a 3 day weekend. It was beautiful weather, so my family met us at Panera for lunch, and we ate outside on the patio. My mom made me my favorite favorite cake ever...german chocolate! Ono! Nobody makes it like her. Then my parents watched the kids while Tom and I went out. I felt so loved.:)

Poor mister Jett fell the night before and hit his head on the corner of the railing. He had a pretty good gash that we butterflied together, but as you can see, it was oozing the next day. :(

Here is our house after some friends (Kinslows!) t.p.ed us! It was funny because we were watching Jody and Kevin's kids while she was in the hospital after having the baby. The kids come bursting into our room on Saturday morning and say "Mom! Dad! You have to look outside! There's toilet paper everywhere!" It was in a scared, something-is-terribly-wrong voice. We both started laughing and explained that someone just played a practical joke on us. When we told them it was probably one of our friends, they seemed to calm down, then proceeded to go outside at 7:30 am and play in it! One of our neighbors is a Korean grandma that speaks almost no english. She was outside looking at us like we had maggots crawling out our ears! She came over and asked, "The children?" Before Katie and Kasey left to go back to school at BYU, we had one more girl's luncheon. Bev was sick that day and we were sad she couldn't make it. We went to Panera and had a fun time as usual. Then we went to Jamie's and made hair bows for our cute little girlies. We sure miss Kasey and Katie's family. Jett especially misses his buddy Cody. Fall Musings

I am just up late because I can't sleep so I thought I'd just write a few things down that have been going on.
Kalea finished her volleyball season with a perfect record...losing record, but hey, it was still fun. Brandon and I were her coaches, and it was fun having Kalea and Bekah on the same team. Our team really did improve leaps and bounds by the end of the year, and it was fun helping Brandon coach. He even got me a "Coach Mandi" plaque. The parents all pitched in and gave us a card and gift certificate, which was so nice! We got the girls a trophy with their names on them. Kalea has developed a great serve, she hustles to the ball, and more importantly, she really likes to play. Let's hope she keeps that, 'cause she's gonna be tall! She started basketball now, and in her first game she had 8 points and lots more shots. She hustles and is really understanding the game well, so it won't be so frustrating this year to watch...yay! She is doing great in school and is wonderful here at home. She helps so much and she is my little sidekick. She loves to stay up late and snuggle and talk, which I just love.
Jackson also just started basketball and he scored about 20 points in his first game! (We didn't keep perfect track, but we think he made about 8-10 shots!) He really gets it too, and is the tallest on his team and he truly has a love for the game. It's so fun to watch your kids actually have FUN while playing, not just doing something their parents want them to do! He is excelling as always in school and is a natural leader and has lots of friends at school. He is also a very good brother at home and loves to help out with the baby. Tom loves having his little sports fan cheering along with him! (And he's killer handsome to boot!)
Kai is doing great in preschool. He wants to play basketball really bad, but we told him when he's five he can start. He can't wait. He is so enthusiastic about everything. He can't wait to be a ninja tomorrow for trunk or treat! He is my little comedian and keeps us laughing and amazed at the funny and grown up things he says. His little smile and blue eyes just melt me every time, and unfortunately he knows it! He gave a talk on Sunday and he did a super job. Once I asked him why he was so cute and sweet, and he said, "Because Jesus made me that way."
Jett is 2 and in the terribleness! He can be such a cute little angel one minute, then such a devil the next! He is potty-training and let's just say he's less than enthusiastic. He's happy enough to sit on it and watch tv, but when the show is over, forget it. He pooped on the carpet today and was right next to the toilet! I was like "Really!?!" I can't wait for it to be over. One positive thing that has come about because of it though, is he has learned his colors! No, not just yellow and brown, all of them! :) I would give him m&m's for sitting on the toilet and every time he would hold one up and I would say the color, and then he would repeat it, and voila! He loves to walk around and say what color everything is! So funny.
Keani is doing great. She is our little porcelain doll. She is such a contrast from Kalea. We compare Kalea to a bright, colorful, hibiscus, and Keani, or "Nini" as she's become known thanks to Jett, is our little dainty daisy. She is so delicate and sweet. She loves to nurse, and I have to say that I just love nursing her. I know that sounds tree-huggerish to a lot of people, but I just love it. I heard a debate on talk radio (don't worry, it was fm, I'm not THAT nerdy) about women who won't breastfeed because of how it makes their boobs look. Come on people! Vanity over the health of your children! Cripes. Priorities. I hope that will not make me unpopular with my friends, but it just irritated me. Not that bottle feeding is bad, it's great, for the proper reasons. Ok, off my soapbox. Keani is in the 90% for height. So true to her genes she's going to be tall. I just love her so much. It's amazing how fiercely you can love a little one even though they've only been around a few months!
Tom is doing great in his job at Sierra Nevada, he just loves his job, and he does well at it. Can't beat that! He is on Dane's basketball team and they get spanked every time, but hey, they are getting good exercise! He's been hittin' the gym (basement) a lot lately and I likey. :) I am doing good, busy busy busy. I just feel like there aren't enough hours in the day for everything! Today was the busiest day! But at 8:00 pm I started playing Sorry with Kai, and Tom was wondering why the heck I would start a game when it was time for bed. I had been telling Kai that we would play all day, and something would always come up. (Like feeding the baby, poop on the floor, school, piano lessons, dinner, homework, etc.) So I couldn't deny him again, those blue eyes, I tell ya. So we all sat around the dining table and played Sorry, and I'm so glad I did, because I followed through on my promise and Kai felt satisfied and happy as he climbed into bed, not neglected and a burden, which I am determined NOT to have my kids feel just because we have a large family. I am teaching 8 students piano now, which is a nice little side job for me and I feel I am using my talent and helping others. Plus a few extra bucks never hurt. I continue to work out and run when I can and that makes me happy and in turn, everyone else, 'cause if the mamma ain't happy... you know. We are looking forward to visiting family in CA for Thanksgiving soon, I can't believe how soon! Ok, I think I can go to bed now.

Jett's 2nd birthday!

Jett turned 2! He had a fun day. We went to "Nuggets" or McDonald's for lunch with Nana, and his 2 best cousins, Cody and Tali. I will have to get those pictures at McD's from Jamie because I forgot my camera. He loves his chicken nuggets! We also went to Toys R Us to let him pick some toys out. No trucks or balls for this boy, it was DORA all the way! You should have seen him in the Dora aisle, he was literally jumping for joy at every single Dora toy. He's a little OCD, and he loves repetition! So the whole store heard "DOWA!! Nana, mommy, book! (look!) Dowa! Dowa!" for about 45 minutes at the top of his lungs. I thought Tom would never forgive me though if I brought home a Dora doll in a pink dress, so we settled on backpack with a Dora book and miniature Dora doll, a Diego dvd, and a Dora placemat. He was so happy! I love my Jett so much. He is definitely in his "terrible 2's" but I love him to pieces. His killer eyes knock every one over, and his dark curly hair is just so handsome. He has the best expressions and funny sayings. Happy Birthday Bug!

Pearce Family Reunion July 2010

We went to the Pearce family reunion in Utah in July. Tom couldn't take work off, so I went with my 5 kids. (I don't really know what I was thinking.) My parents are a lot of help though, I guess that's what convinced me. I'm glad I went, but I've never known such physical and mental exhaustion. It was great to see everybody. My kids had a blast playing in the stream and getting dirty, even finding and capturing bats! Here are some photos of our camping experience.

Here are the pictures of Keani's blessing. Tom's parent's came, and we had a great visit with them. We just love them so much and enjoyed every minute. The kids especially enjoyed singing with Pam and swimming at their hotel pool. They also loved their gifts that "Mutti and Abba" gave them. (Pam, Kai can NOT put the Elmo song book down. He knows every song, and sings all day long!)

The Adams' family came too, and we were so glad to have them there to share in the special day. They hung out afterwards and as usual, we had lots of laughs, and miracle of miracles, Jody stayed awake during a movie! We feel so blessed to have such great friends.

Kasey and his family, and Brandon and his family, as well as my mom and dad were there too. We missed Dane's family, who normally would have been there, but were visiting Jamie's family in VA. I just love having family close, and having such great men stand in the circle was so wonderful. I was so emotional all day because I felt so blessed. Thank you to our family and friends who helped make it such a beautiful day for our little Keani Lynne.

This is the girls getting ready for my baby shower. Sadly, it's the only one! I was so occupied with visiting with everyone, that I forgot to take pictures, or ask someone to take them! It was such a nice night though. It was at my friend Shannon's Dickman's house, and my mom and sister-in-laws all helped. Bev made the cutest invitations and the ever-popular pink cake-pops with little "thank you" tabs on them. The food was so yummy and there were cute pink decorations everywhere. There were about 25 people there and it was just perfect. Keani got the cutest things from everyone. I feel so blessed to have such good friends and a loving family that would throw such a fun party for me and Keani. And besides that I've had so much help from everyone while we adjust and I recover! We have had so many yummy meals and my kids have had so many great play dates while I got to rest. I am so lucky! Thank you! She always has her legs folded up like this, I know she must have been like this inside me.

Poor Jett just got a cast today. It is so sad. He fell on the wet bathroom floor one night while getting all the kids bathed and ready for bed. He wouldn't walk on it for several days, so we finally took him in. He has a hairline fracture on his tibia. Despite how he looks in these pictures, he isn't too happy so far about it. Meanwhile, Tom is out of town, I'm not supposed to lift anything for 2 more weeks because of the c-section, and Keani needs to be fed every 2 hours, the kids are out of school and need taking care of...wow. It's been a week. (Can you tell how tired I am in this picture?) Thank goodness for my mom, family, friends and Kalea helping me or I think I would go crazy. Hopefully it will calm down soon! :)

Introducing Keani Lynne Fobert! (Kay-ah-nee, hawaiian for "wave in the ocean"). Lynne is my middle name, and Tom's mom's middle name, and we spell it the same, so she is named honoring us both, which I think is really special. Born June 1st, 11:56 am, 7lbs, 6oz, via c-section. She is a mixture of all the kids, but the most like Kai we think. She is probably going to have blue eyes like Kai. She is so tiny and perfect. I just love having a girl again, and the kids and Tom are just adoring her!
Kai is so cute with her. He always says, "Aww, she's so cute, I can't live without her!"

Kai turned 4!! He absolutely had to have breakfast in bed, since the older kids did. He was thrilled. Then he had a party at Party On, it was a complete success! Happy Birthday Kai!Kai has been in love with Kung Fu ever since Kung Fu Panda came out. He is constantly kung fu-ing something or someone. Now Karate Kid is coming out and guess who can't wait to see it? We showed him the old Karate Kid movie, and we've been getting crane-kicked ever since.

So Kalea and I have been excited about "doing up" the new baby girl's room, but then it made me feel guilty that we hadn't really done anything decorative with hers and we've been in the house a year now. I've always seen these letters on walls and thought they were so cute, and so I finally just ordered them without Kalea knowing, and Kai helped me hang them up while she is at school today. She will be so surprised. They look so so cute in there, I keep going by and just gazing at them. I just love her name, and to see it on her wall makes me so happy. Now we just need to get her some cute curtains and it will be so cute. How fun is having a girl? I think I'll have the best of both worlds soon, because I'll have an older girl to go do things with/talk with, etc., and a little baby girl to dress up and do the baby things with. Plus 3 fun boys in between. Good times.( ps...This furniture and quilt were mine when I was a teenager!)

(pps...And notice the "9" balloon still in her room...When Tom got her balloons for her party, it was a really windy day, and he was coming in the door when the wind blew the door shut right on her 9 balloon, popping it. She was so sad. I was like, my gosh, it's just a balloon, but Dad, being the dragon-slayer, went back and got her another one. She loves that thing!)

My Jackie Boy turned 7! He opted to have a family party at Casa Bonita. After Kalea chose to go there last year, he has been wanting to go ever since. What a quirky, fun place. I mean, cliff divers inside while you're eating? A bonified mariachi band singing to you, caves, pinatas, all you can eat sopapillas, live shows, arcades, it's a blast. Earlier that day we got him out of school early to have lunch at Red Robin, then we saw "How to train your dragon" on the Imax in 3d. He got great presents and had a real great day. He is the softest, yummiest, funnest, kid in the whole world. Tom and I joke that because he was born early, he was still doughy inside. Soft, doughy cookies make the yummiest ones, the same goes for kids. :) The 3 layer Spiderman cake!

The Birthday Party

Kalea wanted to have her party at a spa for kids. It was ridiculously expensive though, so we decided to have one at home. I must say it was a lot of pressure. 9 year old girls are more particular than 4 year olds or something. I'm so happy to say that it was a total success. We had a fingernail polish/hot potato game to start, then we made fluffy flip flops, then had pedicures, then a pinata, presents, and finally, cake and ice cream. She had 9 girls there, and they were all really sweet and made her party a lot of fun.

This is my friend Jill Becko. She and her daughter Brigitte came early and helped me get ready, what a sweetheart. She even vacuumed and washed dishes! She calls Jackson her "boyfriend" to which he blushes every time.

All that was on Jett's mind was how he could get into that water!

Tom was our pedicure spa water changer. 10 changes in all, and not one complaint or eye roll. What a good dad!

These are the craft we made...fluffy flip flops. They were a hit. It's great because it doubled as the party favor.

The 8 1/2 months preggo pedicurist. Besides a few drops of pink nail polish on the carpet, the pedicures went over fabulously.

So my little Kalea Denise turned 9! I can't believe it. She is our "tax" baby, born on April 15th, but when people say that I also like to remind them that she was also born on Easter. Here she is holding a birthday sign she got on her desk at school. She is the funnest, cutest, spunkiest, sweetest, daughter you could ever have. We celebrated her birthday by going to lunch at Noodles, then dinner with Nana and Papa at Pan Asian Bistro. Then on the weekend she had a party with her friends.

This is Kai and his best buddy Porter. Kai had a mohawk for "Wacky Week" at preschool in honor of Dr. Seuss. This next one is Jett getting his first hair cut at Snip Its. Not too happy as you can see! Afterwards he got a certificate with his picture on it that said he "met all the requirements of a first haircut with courage and bravery." Wellll...not so much. But he looked so cute after! It actually amazes me how much he looks like Jackson in this picture.

This was just a cute moment captured of Daddy reading to his little boys. I am a big stickler about making sure Jett gets read to every nap and bedtime. I read and read and read to my older kids, and sometime I don't feel like Jett gets the same attention being the 4th. So this is one routine I make sure and stick with. He loves it so much and this time Kai jumped in too. Jett's favorite book is a Star Wars book (no prizes guessing who picked that one out...Tom) that talks about spaceships, and Tom makes sound effects for each one. Cherish the moments.

I have a neighbor friend that invited me to be the "model" for their photography group. I don't see myself as being the most photogenic person in the world, but it was free and I wanted to document this pregnancy, being that it's the last. IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

That's right, we had our ultrasound, I saw it myself, it is a girl! Kalea will get her sister that she has wanted so badly! For those that didn't know, we took the home test that you can buy at Walgreens, that is supposed to be 90% accurate, and it told us several weeks ago that it was a boy. So we were just expecting to have that confirmed and see all the body parts. But when I saw it I said, "Is it a girl?" And the tech said "It is definitely a girl." I started crying, I was so happy. Kalea did too. I was just fine with having a boy, just so ya'll know, but deep down I wanted a girl so Kalea could have a sister and we could definitely feel good about having our family be complete! Thank you to everyone that "thought pink" for us!

New Year's Party

Kasey was in charge of the New Year's Party this year, so of course it was something creative. He chose to have a decade party, with each family assigned to a decade. I hope it isn't too hard to decide which decade we had...the 80's. Leg warmers were the coolest.My parents, the 60's hippies! My mom even put some orange flower patches all over her pants. It was so cute.
The 70's clan, complete with chops and Farah Fawcett hair-do's.

Here's where it got scary...Kasey's fam was the 90's. He chose to represent the goth statement that became big during that decade, complete with eyeliner, and black nail polish!

Devin was "the future." The mohawk was classic.

Katie had the classic 90's "do" with the bangs and the hair pulled back in the silver clip.

We had decade-themed music as well as decade facts that we shared all thru the night, along with a pizza taste test. Cheesies Pizza from Elizabeth was the overall favorite. Games, food, laughter, banging pots and pans at midnight, it was a fun night. Happy 2010 everybody!

We only have these three pictures of Christmas Day, because of course our camera died. We took the rest on the video camera. It was a great day filled with surprises and lots of love! Tom was setting this easel up on Christmas Eve and was getting very frustrated and wanted to bag the whole thing, but I made him stick with it and it turned out to be one of the favorites for all the kids. Kai loves the chipmunks!

My family came over for a Christmas Eve brunch and my mom requested the Nativity since we hadn't done it for a few years. It really couldn't have been cuter. Kalea was an angel, Kai was Joseph, Jackson was a shepherd. The oscar went to baby Tali, she was hilarious as Baby Jesus. She stood in the crib with a sucker in her hand and smiled and hammed it up for everyone. Jett created the atmosphere for a stable because he pooped his pants right in the middle of it!

Congrats to my brother, Brandon! He graduated from Metro State in the top 3% of his class. He is seriously the smartest guy I know. He is the best husband and dad to his family and I look up to him so much. Way to go big brother!

This is the Pearce adults all at our house for the presentation of Mom and Dad's gift. Bret and Arianne came in for Brandon's graduation, and Arianne made the beautiful DVD we gave them, so they got their Christmas present early. Can you tell where they were going after this? Pepsi Center maybe? Uncle Brandon and Aunt "Bev" making Jett happy, because he was being a bugger. Not a surprise for this little guy!

I know Bret is going to get mad when he sees this picture because he doesn't like his little sister to appear taller than him in any way shape or form. Just for the record, he IS taller than me, he's just standing funny! (He's one of those that can't resist a bunny-ear on someone during a picture. Jett was the innocent bystander.) Bret is an expert fudge maker...not just any quick fudge. I'm talking our grandma Pearce's down-home, hours long process, if-you-look-at-it-wrong-it-won't-turn-out-fudge. He is a master, and he was sweet enough to share his fudge-making with me while they visited. He even puts a picture of grandma in the kitchen to watch over us! Bret is the funnest brother and I just loved hanging out with him! Thanks big brother!

These pictures were at our ward Christmas party. This was the nicest Santa and Mrs. Santa. The kids always love this tradition. Kalea especially thought Mrs. Santa was a nice touch.

We got to have Ellie over for a few nights while she was visiting. She got to help us pick out and decorate our tree! We all agreed it was our most beautiful tree yet!

Cruisin'...in bear world...probably not far from when Jody rolled down her window, (which you're not supposed to do) and yelled, and I quote, "HERE BEARY!! YOU'VE MET YOUR MATCH!" There was a ranger sitting right next to us in his little golf cart glaring, and I told her he saw her, and she was so embarassed. He gave us the death stare for a good 5 minutes. You gotta watch out for those suburban mothers, they're trouble.

This post has been a long time coming. I've been so busy lately, and so the blogging suffers. One of the highlights of our year was going to Rexburg, Idaho and visiting our bff's...the Adams. They are always such gracious hosts, and we always come back with lots of memories and firmer abs from laughing so much! Here are some pictures that Jody sent me, thankfully, 'cause of all things, I forgot my camera! (At least it wasn't my luggage, which, yes, happened last year!) These were at Bear World. A fabulous place where bears roam wild and the rides were free that day...score! Our kids had a blast together. Jody and Halle

These pictures are in reverse order, but this is one of Jett's favorite games. He plays peek-a-boo with his favorite blankie. He is my first child to have a "blankie." He has several blankets in his crib, but always he chooses this one.

This was me as a native american for Thanksgiving Joy School! The things we do for kids! The lesson suggested having a guest of native american lineage come speak to the kids, and how easy is that? I'm part Cherokee and it was my turn to teach, I even had a Pocahontas costume to boot! The kids are really good and Kai really enjoys school, especially when it's at our house!

For Thanksgiving we all went to my parent's as usual. It was a great day of feasting and lounging, games, and laughing. My aunt Wendy and her kids and my Grandpa Johnson came too.

My birthday, Halloween

Well, I turned 30 everyone. Doomsday came and went, with no pictures. I didn't think to take any, and Tom doesn't believe in pictures in general...so... It was a nice day though. We went to lunch with all of my family to the California Kitchen, then to dinner with just us and the kids at Johnny Carino's. So a yummy day of no cooking, works for me!

Halloween was good, but we only had the video camera with us, so I have to have Tom help me figure out how to download those videos onto the computer, and then we will see the kids in their cute costumes with their jack-o-lantern, etc. (BUT, just in case that never happens...) Kalea was Princess Leia, (I did her hair in cinnamon buns over her ears, it was very cute and I was very proud of my skills), Jackson was superman, Kai was Po, the Kung Fu Panda complete with eye liner filled eyes and nose, and Jett was the baby standby Green Dragon. Very cute. They loved trick-or-treating. I'm just glad that stupid holiday is over and we can get on to the real ones!
